When Do Babies Talk

As parents we get so excited to hear our baby say their first words, hoping it’s “mama” or “dada”. Children learn to talk at different ages and you shouldn’t compare your baby to the other babies at the playground. Each child will learn at his/her own pace.

  • About 12-15 months babies will learn “mama” or “dada”
  • At 15 months they will know who the word is specific to
  • 15-18 months they should know about 3-8 words

The most important thing is that your child should understand you. If you say it’s time to go outside, they should run to get their shoes.
