When Do Babies Sleep Through the Night

  • By Dr. Tanya
  • In Infants (4 to 12 months), Sleep

At four to six months old, babies do not need to feed during the night and they should sleep a straight six to eight hours if you let them.

At three to four months old you should lay baby down while still awake so they learn how to put them-self to sleep.

  • If they wake up during the night give them a few minutes to soothe them-self and go back to sleep.
  • Some babies will suck on their hand, rub the sheet, or rock their head.
  • By six months of age most infants should sleep through the night.
