How to Teach Kids to Blow Their Nose

  • By Dr. Tanya
  • In Illnesses, Toddler (1-3 years)

When children have a runny or stuffed nose, parents put a tissue up to their nose and try to teach them to blow, knowing it will help them feel better. Around the ages of two or three you can teach a child to blow his or her nose.

Follow these tips:

  • Hold a tissue up to their nose closing one nostril
  • Tell them to blow gently
  • Teach them to throw the tissue in the trash
  • Wash hands thoroughly afterwards
